I emailed Malfador Machinations a few days ago about this very issue, and here is the reply I got...

"Yes, we are working on the first patch for Dungeon Odyssey. I anticipate that we will be able to release it on Oct. 28th. In addition to a bunch of new features, we are also adding in a new module to play with!"

So for now only the beta testers get the goodness of the patch, and the rest of us will just have to wait.
