View Full Version : Overlord question
April 12th, 2004, 08:49 PM
OK I purchased this over the weekend and am plugging along with overlord to start.
Can somebody tell em what the #$@@% a "blood moon" is? I figured out harvest moon must positively effect food and drought does the opposite but what does Blood do?
Oh and while we are at it every game I start in Interstealer Trader I get swamped by Pirates when I pick my FIRST planet to land on?!?!

Blood Moon increases the effectiveness and damage of troops while it is in effect, for the city affected.
Pirate attacks in Trader are random, and can happen at any time (sometimes on the first turn). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
If you have any other gameplay questions, feel free to ask and i'll answer right away.

Hey thanks! Are these things documented anywhere?
Funny thing is I tried the IT game three times yesterday and got clobbered twice on the first and once on the second turn by HUGE pirate fleets.
Just not my lucky day I guess... didn't hit the lottery either http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

You're correct about Harvest Moon and Drought. Population Boom increases birth rate, and Plague increases death rate.
RE Interstellar Trader: This was an admitted difficulty with IT 1 at times. Interstellar Trader 2 did correct some problems with early big pirate attacks, just to let you know.
If you do need any other help with any of the games, feel free to post questions!

Finally finished my first Overlord game. I have to say I find the inter-city battles to be just plain annoying.
My question is does the depreciation of buildings have any effect on their abilities/bonuses? Or do they just disappear when they get to 0/100?
Also I had a weird thing going on where I ALWAYS had two battles in the same turn, consistently.
This coupled with my previously mentioned problem with IT 1 makes me wonder if my PC or install has something wacky going on.
