The Starfury page says that the projected release date for the game is July 3rd. Does anyone have an updated release date yet?

Whether that date is firm or not, who knows. They've been pretty skimpy about releasing info on Starfury [pun intended].

Well, I hope it's soon. I'm usually a pretty patient fellow, but I can't wait to get my hands on this game. But darn, when do I have the time? I just picked up Galactic Civilzations and Neverwinter Nights, and trying to play those games. I may just have to play one game one day, the next one on another, etc. Why can't adults get summer vacation?

Darn, just read the press release. Now it looks like it will be Sept. 1, if not later. Well, that's actually just one more month than the original release date, but it's still a delay. Well, as long as they tweak it to the max, it will be worth the wait.

I wouldn't mind that so much, if they were just a little more forthcoming on what's in the game and how it's going to work. Just look through all the Posts in the Starfury section here with questions like these... and note the extreme lack of answers... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

I'd be glad to tell you, except that I've signed an NDA, and I'm not sure exactly what I'm allowed to tell you... maybe I should ask Aaron "can I say this? how about this?" But what I think I can safely say is that anything I tell you will be incorrect within a few weeks because there's a new beta patch every week or so http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

C'mon, Ed, it's not like we're asking you to post the program code http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif . We'd just like some basic information, like general game mechanics and what not. Or are the guy(s) at Malfador so paranoid that the NDA covers absolutely *everything*? Is this SOP for them regarding games in development?

I just started in on Star Wars Galaxies, and today, Knights of the Old Republic comes out. Before all that, I picked up the Neverwinter Nights expansion, but have yet to even play it.
I attribute this to having moved in with my fiancee. If I even look at a computer screen for more than ten minutes, I get badgered into turning the thing off. My SWG sessions have all taken place after she's gone to bed, meaning I've gotten about four hours of sleep in the Last two days. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Regards,
Corporate Dog[/QB]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Tell me about that. My wife has had the sudden urge to play her Mahjongg game for a couple of hours a night, and by the time I get the chance to get on my computer, it's usually around 9 or 10 PM, and I usually get up around 4:30. so after I play for a couple of hours, it's usually between 12 and 1 am. So I know how you feel.

Nothing of the sort can be said by them in public unless it has already been stated by MM or given the green light from them. This is how NDAs work in general. MM is no exception.

Hehe... if you don't receive FRAG and don't pay attention to Shrapnel's press releases you might have missed this:
From a recent Shrapnel press release:During recent beta testing a number of excellent suggestions were voiced (and no, this doesn't mean the requests are for more naked space chicks
or the giant space cow that shoots plasma balls out of her udder) by the
testers. In fact, great ideas continue to pour into Malfador's mailbox.
To work these fantastic fan suggestions into Space Empires: Starfury
though means more time is now needed. Hence, the slight delay.

LOL!!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif I pushed for those giant space cows, and Fyron even came up with the plasma balls out of their udders, but nooo, Aaron said it would make the game too cheesy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
