Ok, so it uses a slot system. I was wondering why until I had to email MM a (zipped) savegame. The zip was 800kb, the savegame folder 3 megs!

It gets even bigger with larger maps, but I think that the slot system isn't really necessary in most cases due to the sizes of most harddrives today.
