(and will there be a way to mod the full Version so navigating and finding who u want to kill is a helluvalot esier)<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">A couple of suggestions:

1. Take a 360 degree view of the horizon. Look for any moving spots of light, right click them to check out if they're the right ship you're looking for.

2. Set your radar display to 300 ls (press the r key). Enemy ships all around you will show up as red triangles. It makes them a lot easier to spot within a certain distance. Then check them out.

3. If you can't spot the ship immediately after entering the system, either head for the center of the system and do another 360 check, or just take a cruise around the edge of the system, checking out all ships.

With those techniques I've managed to track down all but a few of the ships I've looked for.

***Another hint: Only take mercenary missions in systems that are very close to the system you're in. That way you don't lose the majority of your time just getting to the target system, let alone finding and killing the target.

I'm sure someone will put out a mod sometime that will make it easier to find and track down target ships. Or, if you feel like it, you could probably do it yourself. Hope all this helps you out.

You could also cycle through enemy targets to help you spot them. I had a freakin ship blowing the crap out of me and couldn't spot it for the life of me!

use a combination of F7 and F8 this will allow you to see selected targets and see where you are going

PIP would be nice, we never latched onto the idea though.

Alternatively, a zoom function would also be nice. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

In any case, I moved the above&behind camera further away on all of the player ships. That seems to work well enough at keeping my ship from making a lethal first impression on solid objects while I'm paying attention to the ship I'm fighting.
