Okay well I was told the 4th fleet of the Terran navy would assist me in my assault on this huge Amon'Krie base...yet they never showed up! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

Anyone else have this problem?

As far as I know, despite the description, you are pretty much on your own. Maybe they got intercepted along the way. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

For help on taking it out by yourself, see this thread. (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=70;t=000056)

Take a pair of toxin injectors and do shoot and run on that station at maximum range, keep repeating of cause. That's how I killed that bad baby.

It is simpler than that:
There is a planet nearby. Buy best shields and put them to the forward so that you have more than 1000 points there and some to the back. Then go to that planet (it's 150 or so from the station) and from there make one attack, go back to planet, repair (costs 0 because nothing is broken but shields are up!), make another attack and so on. if you take tachyon beams and some torpedoes, the station will be done in no time...

Even if they were present they wouldn't necessarily help you -- they'd just wander around randomly. Unless you could afford to wait however long it took them to run into the starbase by chance, they'd still be no help. We need the ability to 'call for help' and get allied AI ships to come to our aid.

I destroyed the starbase with Antimatter missiles. 180ls range is outside the starbase's range, so I just took it out. However, when I go back to Freeport, I don't get a mission completion or anything.

Doesn't really matter, just playing the demo until my full Version gets here. Shipped out yesterday, woohoo!

Use "-skipping" weapons such as tachyon beams, graviton hellbores, toxic injectors and etc. Also use fast-recharging weapons, such as repulser beams. It doesn't hurt to load up on armor and shields, and to use those character points on improving offensive and defensive bonuses.

And use your weapon banks often. If you use a cruiser, keep on spinning in circles until it dies. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Edit: and get PD cannons. Salvage them; buy them; do anything to get the latest PD cannons. If you get about 4 top-end PDCs, those toxic injectors and graviton hellbores won't even touch you.

I just strolled up to it in my ship and blew it to pieces with anti-proton beams and missiles....

It'd be nice to have a stock one too though.
