As you can no doubt tell from the description Starfury's a whole different ball o' wax. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I'd say it's good. It has its drawbacks (2D universe anyone?) but nothing show-stopping (again, IMHO). If you liked Elite or any of its descendants (such as Starflight, Privateer, Protostar, etc.) you'll like Starfury. However unlike Elite and Privateer, you can't buy commodities and sell them for a profit on another world. Instead, you take "commerce" missions similar to the Merchant Guild jobs in Privateer.

One can't buy commodities in the release Version, anyways... wait for the next patch. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Thanks. Sounds like a couple of less than perfect design choices (especially a 2-D universe), no doubt forced by time, space and programming considerations. However, based on the support SEIV got from both Aaron and the community, I bought it :-)

Hope you enjoy it solops, despite its shortcomings I played it for hours when I first got it installed, and I still spend a lot of time just fiddling with different component loadouts on my ship
