Well, I had some extra cash and registered my Version of Milkshape 3d this weekend, then commenced to getting some Trek ships into Starfury:

An Akira on a Stabase fly-by (http://www.frailart.net/members/drake113/st1.jpg)

A Sovereign visits Earth (http://www.frailart.net/members/drake113/st2.jpg)

Nebula on the move (http://www.frailart.net/members/drake113/st3.jpg)

Side view of an Excelsior (http://www.frailart.net/members/drake113/st4.jpg)

I'm having no luck with converting movie era ships from SFC II, but SFC III is proving to be much more cooperative, so all they ships you're likely to see from me initally will be Next Generation-era. I'll do some more this week and make the models available this weekend (Gotta do some Klingons and Romulans so we'll have someone to fight). However, they'll be missing a few things, and if possible, I'd like to prevail upon the community to give me a hand with them:

1) I suck at doing firing points, and haven't even bothered for these models
2) I hate,hate,hate,hate doing ship layout files, so ditto.

So, if anyone wants to step forward and volunteer to help me out on this, I think the Starfury community could be well on its way to having the pieces for a Star Trek mod.

If you want to do ship layout files, you really want SJ's Slotmodder.

I haven't the slightest clue where these things fire from or what they're capabilities are, so I'll have to skip on actually helping..

Actually, when I said "I hate,hate,hate,hate doing ship layout files", I meant with the Slotmodder. Don't get me wrong, though-- the Slotmodder is great; in fact, without it, I hate doing them expontentially moreso, and probably end up in a bell tower somewhere with a high powered rifle.

Hey, those look good. I've learned a bit with Slotmodder. I could give it a try - and as a Trekkie, i'd be more then happy to =^_^= http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

As stated in the other ST mod thread, if someone could do a step by step on how to convert SFC3 models to SF I have approx. 230+ SFC3 models on my hdd

I will have zero time to work on it for the next month and a half, but once this term is over I'll have some free time.

for engines glows you need to change the X,Y,Z varibles for engine hardpoints in SpaceObjects_XFiles.txt

For example I have the following for the Miranda

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">Number Of Engine Points := 6
Engine Point 1 X := 61.1304
Engine Point 1 Y := -582.472
Engine Point 1 Z := 24.1602
Engine Point 1 Glow Offset X := 145.8204
Engine Point 1 Glow Offset Y := -30
Engine Point 1 Glow Offset Z := 0
Engine Point 1 Glow Color := 51, 122, 227
Engine Point 1 Glow Radius := 0.6
Engine Point 2 X := -63.0257
Engine Point 2 Y := -582.472
Engine Point 2 Z := 24.1602
Engine Point 2 Glow Offset X := -140.3758
Engine Point 2 Glow Offset Y := -30
Engine Point 2 Glow Offset Z := 0
Engine Point 2 Glow Color := 51, 122, 227
Engine Point 2 Glow Radius := 0.6
Engine Point 3 X := 61.1304
Engine Point 3 Y := -682.472
Engine Point 3 Z := 24.1602
Engine Point 3 Glow Offset X := 145.8204
Engine Point 3 Glow Offset Y := -30
Engine Point 3 Glow Offset Z := 0
Engine Point 3 Glow Color := 51, 122, 227
Engine Point 3 Glow Radius := 0.6
Engine Point 4 X := -63.0257
Engine Point 4 Y := -682.472
Engine Point 4 Z := 24.1602
Engine Point 4 Glow Offset X := -140.3758
Engine Point 4 Glow Offset Y := -30
Engine Point 4 Glow Offset Z := 0
Engine Point 4 Glow Color := 51, 122, 227
Engine Point 4 Glow Radius := 0.6
Engine Point 5 X := 61.1304
Engine Point 5 Y := -482.472
Engine Point 5 Z := 24.1602
Engine Point 5 Glow Offset X := 145.8204
Engine Point 5 Glow Offset Y := -30
Engine Point 5 Glow Offset Z := 0
Engine Point 5 Glow Color := 51, 122, 227
Engine Point 5 Glow Radius := 0.6
Engine Point 6 X := -63.0257

I just hate the converting job. If you have all the images ready I can do the layouts. That's fun. Though it may not be so accurate to the serie but Google is a good way to find information.

I hope that all the engine glows and such are done because I really can't get them right.

Anyway, I can help at the layots.
