Go to Main_Sites.txt, copy one of the existing ones and change it to suit. Then open up a map and change a planet from one of the existing sites to your new one.

i mainly want them for supply and demand reasons.
like a mining colony would have a certain site that demanded mining equipment.

You still want the sites file, or maybe the Stores file. The sections are defined for each site.

If you changed them to spacedock you also have to change the other lines for that entry..
Section 1 Name := Galactic News Center
Section 1 Type := Mission Text
cannot be
Section 1 Name := Galactic News Center
Section 1 Type := Spacedock
it has to be something like
Section 1 Name := Galactic News Center
Section 1 Type := Spacedock
Section 1 Center ID := Terran Spacedock

but wat ineed is something differentif i do wat you said then my new section will have the same attributtes as the site terran spacedock? also is there any to add more than 8 sections?

if you want a new spacedock, you go to main_stores and make a new one, then tell the sites file to refer to that spacedock instead of the Terran one.
No, you can't have more than 8 sites per location.

i did that
Section 1 Name := Mining Outpost
Section 1 Type := Spacedock
Section 1 Center ID := Terran Spacedock
and
Section 1 Name := Mining Outpost
Section 1 Type := Spacedock
Section 1 Center ID := Mining Outpost
both time the game crashes with a range check error

That shouldn't crash it, at least the one with Terran spacedock..you still have the terran spacedock in your stores file, right? And there is only -one- section 1 in that site?

Yeah, jobs are always hardcoded to a limit of 3.

well your deflector screens use energy, at least in star tek they do, and so i want my shields from the energy storage tank.
like my reactor produces 20 energy,i have 2 beams, so during afight i have enough energy for my guns, but i have to stop fireing to let my shields rebuild- exammple
also ireduced my fighter size to 3 but i still can only fit 1 fighter/bay

The only thing that can use energy is weapons, unfortunately.
The amount of fighters a bay can launch is determined by the bay, not the fighter. Doesn't matter how big the fighter is except in how much cargo space it takes up.
