Forgive me if this is a question already answered elsewhere (I'm not seeing it). Does Ry'leigh's void summoning chances for a more powerful summon improve with a +luck dominion? Does the chance for being struck insane decrease with higher astral skill and luck?

hmm not sure off the power but at least the insanity is determinet by astral skill and some special (like starspawns ? was it? who get even less)

but luck scale means that you get better rolls
and its a % roll so i think its therefor indirectly affected by luck scale

for unit power yes i think luck affects that too
it sounds similar to cross breeding (spell)
there for it probably works the roughly same way

Would this mean the little unicorn magic item that boosts luck would help?

Are luck bonus items cumulative? Meaning the lucky shield and unicorn trinket would both provide a bonus to luck and thus to summoning better void units?

It offers 50% protection from being hit. Not cumulative with other luck items.

The "Luck" that influences summons (possibly) is the type generated by your gods dominion power.

AFAIK, the priestly starspawns have the least chance of getting their minds fried by the void. It seems to happen fairly often with mage variety though. But even when they get fried, they can still lead some magical beings due to their magical nature, and still have mindbLast although their own minds have been bLasted, so they are not completely useless.

If I remember correctly, the priest Starspawn have a 5% chance of coming back non-feebleminded. The hero Cthul . . . err, the guy with a name something like Cthulu the Stargazer has only a 2% chance of getting mind-fried.

On a side note, if you send anybody into the gate, send Illithids along with them with the Guard Commander order. Only Illithids will appear on the battlefield if the summoner gets attacked by what he contacts, and this is a great use for the artifact that allows your 10 guards instead of the normal 5.

Err, that should have been 5% chance of coming back feebleminded, not the other way around. Sorry about that!

I don't have the exact stats in front of me right now, but I believe a non-Starspawn Astral mage can enter, but has a 75% chance of getting fried. A non-priest Starspawn has a significantly reduced chance. Maybe 25%? I can't remember right now. The ones I recall exactly are the ones I'd consider using: the Starspawn priest (5%) and the Stargazer hero (2%).
