Hi,

I've tried searching, especially the newb thread, but I can't find out how (or if) you can remove a cursed item. I made the Armor of Twisting Thorns so that I could boost my blood skill enought make the Robe of the Magi.

Now, of course, I can't remove the darn Twisting Thorns. So, am I stuck with the thorns?

Thanks, y'all,

Yep, only dying and coming back can shake a cursed item.

Best of all... go die in your most hated enemy's territory... that way there's a chance that one of his best commanders might just pick up your cursed equipment.

Hi,

Thanks, guys, I thought I was stuck. Sigh. Now, for the second part of this puzzle:

There are a number of artifacts that preserve your life when you're killed. If I use one (e.g. The Ank, the heart) would my items be removed? (I have presumed that using the ank, heart or that bottle you don't loose your magic skills, is that correct?)

Second, if living doesn't work, would becoming undead work better? For example, using twice born? Would I drop my items then?

I can live with the armor, but since we're on the subject, I thought I'd ask.

Thanks again,

Try going into battle against an enemy with the Star of Heroes. If you're lucky it will smash your armor and leave you alive http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Oooh, Saber Cherry has the cutest solution!

I haven't tried the other techniques you mentioned for surviving death, so I don't know what all of their side effects are.

The Ankh turns you into Soulless, Twiceborn makes you a wight mage. Both preserve magic, location, items, etc (well, Nataraja loses two arms I guess, but other than that...). In both cases, transformation is one-way.
You not only have to die, but lose the battle as well or at least make sure that none of your friendlies have that slot open.
Empowering Nature and using Transformation should work because many of the new forms can't use armor, but you can't transform back to regain that armor slot... although you might be able to keep transforming until you turn into something with an armor slot again.
