Hi! I'm new on this board and to Dominions unverse. I have been playing around with the demo of Dominions 2 (done that for 3 days now), but there is something I don't understand and that is: When I choose I wanna be a green Dragon when you make your character it doesn't show up in the game. Everytime I choose the green Dragon it become a Grand Druid instead. Is there something I'm missing here or...?
By the way, I have ordered the full Version of it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Really great game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Thanks
with best regards

There should be a "Change Shape" order available if you click on the druid...
*POOF* here comes the Green Dragon...
(actually I have never tried a dragon, but this is how it works for other shapeshifter like the smoking mirror)

I am thinking that the Change Shape order should be documented better, this question has rosen up quite a few times already... The druid-shape of the dragon should have a description telling he is a dragon in human form, because dragon in human form is much different from normal druid...

You can also queue a transformation as part of the combat script, if I'm not mistaken. Cast some protective and/or empowerment spells, then go drake and rip 'em up!
I agree though that it should be clearer the Druid/Frost Father/Whatever is really a dragon in human form. This certainly isn't the first time this question has popped up!

Doesnt the description talk about them using the human form and going dragon when they are hurt? Thats kindof an automatic thing with the form-change button being a nice thing to find. IMHO
Now if they started as a dragon and you couldnt locate all the magic you game them then THAT would be a bigger problem

Just a quick note about scripting the change. Try to make sure your pretender is in the correct form before Hosting. I've foolishly left my pretender in Dragon form with a scripted shift -> Attack! order. Rather embarassing to watch my Druid form race into the enemy lines...

In fact I remember in early discussions about dragon pretenders that a tactic suggested was to attack a dragon-held province with some magical summons such as Call of the Wild, or maybe an assassination, then follow it with an army.
On the other hand I think that when a dragon completes his 5 scripted orders he will do the automatic form-change if he is hit.

I also tried that I forgot to change form and my little tiny druid hasted into battle and got 'THUDed' http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif
But he didn't changed into dragon form as the describtion said when he got hurt?
Also I would like to know more about the scripting orders part. When I set my tatic(s) on my pretender god there is only these option like: fire, attack, etc. etc. Is there something more advance like you guys are talking about?
Thanks
with best regards

One of the listed options says "Cast specific Spell". Clicking on this displays another menu with spells that can be cast. Selecting a spell closes the spell list and takes you back to the orders list. You can click "Cast specific Spell" again to select another spell to que.
