View Full Version : Noob here - how do I play vs just one AI?

I tried choosing Ulm, which some had suggested for noob games. I wanted to play vs Mictlan for the same reason, and Mictlan is very weak. However, I play the first map, and get 3 AI players even though I only choose one.

Is there a different map to choose for one AI opponent?

Can't I choose the player #s to face? and if so how do I do that?

Make sure you only clicked on one. If you play the Aran Map there shouldn't be any issues.

Click once for Human, twice for Easy AI.

There seems to be a problem with information bleeding over from one map to another. Try not to go into a map then cancel and choose some other map.

For first game I would select Ulm. And for computer opponents choose from Man, Pangaea, C'tis, and Machaka. Use the Aran map. Leaving the independents at the default setting of 3 might have you meeting the others too quick. Try raising the indepent setting to something like 5

Thanks. I need to take more time on each turn, so that I am expnading quickly, but even now I can keep up with one weak opponent easily enough.

I just want to build a serious empire and figure out how everything works, and not have to worry too much about surviving til turn 30.

OT - but my Wyrm pretender was killed "by the ghosts of all those he had killed" or something. Was that another way of saying assasination? Was I wrong in choosing a Melee type pretender and using him alot in combat? It wasn't clear.

You target a province and the spell then makes the souls of the slain attack their killer (the biggest killer in the province).

No it does´nt mean that you made a mistake in choosing a melee pretender. It means that having a succesfull combat pretender (or any other expensive/unique unit) carries risks. No more and no less.
