This is just a poll. I like the Ulm. I have the demo and can only play like 7 nations. So who is the best?

From the demo... Ulm. I like the default theme, and Iron Faith. If you get the full game, you'll be able to patch to 2.06, and get to try Black Forest (Transylvanian Ulm, with witches and vampires), and the cute Hoburg mod (where Ulm are replaced by Frod' Buggins' bretrhen - cool).

But there are still lots of nations I have yet to try for more than 4-5 turns.

Pythium is probably the "best".

True of all things but especially here.

By best do you mean the one that will win the most? Against AI's? Against other human players? The best for an ally?

Personally I like to play Man and Pangaea.

I love Ermor myself, although I hear it isn't so great against human players due to the ease of banishing it's undead armies with priests... I haven't played any humans yet(damn LAN bullcrap http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif I paid for the game, i'd like to think I can play it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif )

But I haven't managed to field armies nearing 2000 units with anyone else yet =) It's really impressive the ease and speed it takes to get huge armies that can easily steam roll over the living.

They start with a 10 death gem income too, which I find invaluable myself.. Also on the scales - you can max death, cold, order, and productivity - with almost no real problems. Gives you ALOT of points for magic spheres. Too bad I think that Ermor doesn't really have any sacred units - starting with 4 in every sphere would be damn handy for your automatically blessed units.

Ashen gets Knights of the Unholy Sepulchere

And both Ashen and Soul Gate get Wailing Ladies.

Broken Empire gets Shadow Vestals

I wouldn't say "none" but not as easily producable as any other race, but I think that is to balance out the fact that most Ermorian Pretenders can have big and ugly bless effects.

Ermorian Pretenders? Hrmm.. I don't think I've seen them yet actually. What kind of bless effects?
