I have always wondered how exactly Fortune Tellers, Volva and other commanders that are supposed to prevent bad luck worked.
Do numbers matter ? (ie : if you have 5 volva, you are 5 times more likely to prevent a bad event than if you have ?) Does the location matter (do they prevent event "worldwide" or only in their current province, and in that case, do numbers matter ?) ?

Thanks !

My understanding is that they're per province and don't stack (and further that fortune tellers are MUCH weaker than other preventers).

Your answers are in this thread. (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=74;t=001011;p=2)

The great seer prevents 75% of bad events in his province, the norna prevent 15%, and fortune tellers prevent 5%. This is most likely a 5% chance per fortune teller, checked individually.

Yes, I have seen this thread, but the only info given is the %. It is still unclear (well, english is not my primary language, and I can be very dense sometimes too http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif ) whether the chance to avoid a bad event is worldwide or per province, and whether having more than one matter (stacking bonuses, individual checks, or only one check).
Thanks in advance http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

It's province only. 5% and checked individually (AFAIK)

So if you have multiple Fortune Tellers in a province, and a bad event comes up, each one has a 5% chance to cause it to be 'avoided' or it will affect the province.
