I'm starting a new game server with the Orania map file. I'm hoping for at least 5 people, but welcome more.

If you join, do not start the game: I will.

If you decide to drop out, make yourself computer controlled so you don't hold the rest of us up.

The server address is: 209.157.135.121
Port number: 9999

See you on the other side!

What's the game settings? Hosting frequency? Any particular mod you're using?

Orania is a very large map, you really do want to have more than 14 people, which you shouldn't have a problem to fill. Otherwise, the game will become a nightmare of micromanagement before you even see another player.

I'll see how many join, but I like games in Orania with 6 people, so you can have some kind of empire before you see your opponents (rather than being bumped out early). But I'm in no hurry, so lets see who joins.

Somebody started the game, so I had to reset it.

PLEASE DO NOT START THE GAME!!!

I'm running the server on a remote machine, so the only way to start it is as a regular player.

Anyway, please join up!

Is it going to be "one-two turns a day" or "weekend intensive" like? I suspect I'm not in the majority's time zone (Western Europe), so intensive might be hard for me, but one or two turns a day I can handle.

I tried to join, but it said that the server is down

I have it on quick host, so as soon as everyone has their turn in, it hosts.

Currently there are 6 people in the game. I'll wait to see if anyone else joins up, and will probably start it 12 hours from now.

I think we'e on for starting it in 5 hours or so...

I can't connect to the server at 209.157.135.121 port 9999. Ping works. Are you sure the server isn't in 'sleep mode'?

Sorry, the server acted a little screwy at the beginning of the game. It should work now: six people have taken their turns.

I get a screen with 9 "Open" positions, and when I select Man, my password doesn't work. I don't think I've changed my Man pretender since the other day, and I checked that my usual password is correct, so I'm a bit lost.

I had "no nation reselect" turned on. I turned it off and restarted. See if you have any better luck!

Just turn me into an AI - I won't keep you guys from starting the game for good. G'luck!

Actually, I don't think that's possible without the password, that I know of. I'm going to start the game over, since we're still on the first turn, and I know how to do it correctly this time.

Hi all!

Zachariah, you've me stunned... i've just submited a pretender to the 10001 port (Atlantis). And then i found this thread...

Is this game still open? If it so, i'll join. What happen with the other?

I have connected to the server and all the nations where open. Should i submit a pretender or simply post it here and wait?

Zachariah
February 5th, 2004, 05:32 PM
Go ahead and join the 10001 game. The other started already. The 10001 game has 4 people in it currently, and I figured I'd start it in 10 or so hours, with a minimum of 6 people.

What's up Ulm and Pangaea? If you're not going to take your turns, please make yourselves computer controlled!

Don't know what the deal is, but something odd is going on. I played turn 1 (I'm Abyssia), and when I went to play turn 2, I got an error that my 2h file was from another saved game, and my turn was stale http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/confused.gif

I'm going to force host this evening (in 10 hours or so). There are some folk who dropped without becoming computer controlled.

Zachariah

I just forced hosted again. I'll set the timer for two days (in case I miss it), but if every human gets their turn in, I'll host.

See you on the battlefield!
