do AI-controlled pretenders always use the same game settings?

ie. if I'm playing as Ulm I can alter my pretender and dominion settings to make the game play quite differently - if I set Ulm to AI control will the AI always use the same setup, or is it randomized for each game?

If you want to there are ways to make it even more different each game. Im working on some maps which will increase the randoms used to start the game.
