Pythium balance

Any particular reason Pythium starts with that huge gem income? Why not give them 3 astral instead of 5 to start, then at least it wouldnt be more than most others? Not that this would change a lot, but it would make them seem slightly less unfair...

Ive never really considered it unfair. Pythium doesnt win all the games all that often as far as I can remember. In fact all Ive really seen it do is (A) provide Pythium with something to trade for their survival or (B) make them a choice early target for attack in order for others to get the gem income.

I think it's for thematic reasons. Since Pythium is the home of the mighty Theurg Communion, they need to have lots of astral gems, and other gems too. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
