View Full Version : Off Topic: Your Geographic Location

While off topic, the large response to the Gender and Age polls led me to believe that quite a few members of the forum are interested in this information. For those who do not approve, my apologies. Please be patient and indulge the rest of us nosey people.
Where do you live? I have broken things down by continent, as typing the name of every country in the world would have taken a little bit longer than I have on my coffee break. I was not strict on this and in honour of the game creators, I have included a region not normally considered a continent. I thought about doing time zones, as that would have an influence on MP, but did not think it was as interesting as geographic location.

Is Hawaii Oceana?

Hawaii. Hmm, I would go for Oceania, it feels more correct than North America, which would be politically more accurate. Let the spirits move you to a divinely inspired answer, this is a pretty free form poll.
I have gone from 100% at the start of the poll down to 10% in about two hours. Hate to see where I am tomorrow morning…

The game is written in scandinavia and most of the beta testers needed to speak those Languages so I think there is a large active group here.

As I write this the Left Coast isn't even awake yet, and as I understand it, Californians don't do anything before one in the afternoon and three or four lattes.
Check back in 24 hours and you'll see a better representation.

Anyway, Scandinavia needed the boost, it's lagging behind North America already.

OK, this "Scandinavia/Rest of Europe" thing is just a way of masking the obvious: Europeans are a majority here... (ATM at least)
And, for any remotely reasonable definition of Scandinavia, I'm definitely in "the rest of Europe" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Americans/Canadians currently have the lead, by a slim amount. Are Mexicans considered North America? I've never had a good explanation of this, as the grouping is so muddled, and they are lumped in with Central America most often in my courses, while speaking of continents, clearly it is on the North American continent.
I'm here in Athens, Georgia, at the University of Georgia, in the US. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Germany(so i should prefer Ulm http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ),
or in the Polls language:"The rest of Europe".
We could also make a vote:
Bush or Kerry
I donīt think that there are so many germany here, because the media in Germany were not aware of D2.

There's no actual "Central America" as a continent, but Mexico is commonly lumped in with them as a matter of economic status: Their economic status is closer to that of Central American countries than it is to Canada or the USA.
