hi everyone, see topic.
I know there are artifacts that give a bonus to penetration, and that certrain spell levels (?) increase the penetration, too.

how exactly does this work, i.e. is the penetration value substracted from the magic resistance ? what is the formal for resisting a magic hit ?

Magic penetration is sort of like the attack value in melee: it increases your chance of affecting an opponent with magic vs that opponent's magic defense, which is Magic Resistance. You get +1 point of penetration for every +2 skill points in a magic path beyond those required for the spell you are using.
