Game in progress:

I am sieging a Dark Citadel. When I right-click on the Fortification icon it tells me the Defence Value is 350. Is the value being reported the Current Value or the Base Value? I notice when I am under siege in my own fortification that the Value is the Current Value showing the effects of the enemy's efforts. Is the same info available to the sieger?

It's the base value. You can't see the current value as a sieger as far as I know.

Thanks Sindai. And I think you are right. The next turn I got a message saying the walls were breached and we could storm at any time but the Defence Value remained the same.

I was being sieged in an MP game and held out with mere "wall damage" for 3 turns, and then I cast the rebuild walls ritual, and the next turn my walls were down.

There were no visible reinforcements for the sieger, and the curve suggested I would be fine even without the spell.

But it may be that they brought in a gate cleaver or three without my being notified.... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I was ulm against Ctis so I doubt he had earth magic available to cast the wall destroying counterpart.

My question is, has anyone empirically verified that the rebuild walls ritual (name?) actually works?

Rabelais, I have had the *same* problem and have wondered the same thing. I have never had Arcane Masonry work for me.
