Excellent work Zen, this link thread coupled with the AAR link sticky would prove extremely useful.

Off the top of my head, the only info that I may also find useful and aren't currently included are perhaps the various IRC rooms. I.e. where they are, and perhaps some short descriptions of what the rooms are used for (MP arrangement, general discussion, etc)

Just a thought http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Indeed I planned on consolidating alot of the information found on here by my other prestigious Moderators in order for the titanic amount of information to be filtered down and distilled to be as user friendly as possible. I hope everyone finds this easier to read/find/use.

When I looked at the new links thread it struck me thet there is no FAQ for Dom 2 (hard to miss as Zen made the FAQ link empty).

This might be a daunting task, but is there anyone that would like to begin a FAQ collection. Much stuff can be found in noob threads etc, but a regular FAQ (perhaps indexed) would be nice I believe.

There is a FAQ, SaberCherry's excellent thread on it. Though I am looking to make a bigger, badder, more detailed thread for it and was awaiting permission from Cherry to at the very least use his for a base then we could go from there.

Good!

Edit: I just looked at Sabers thread and realized that it was a long time since i read it. It is good!

Sabers is definetly one that may deserve to stay stickie all by itself. What I had in mind when I discussed this with the Moderators was that a very few stickies with one really prominent one like READ THIS BEFORE POSTING could be just a list of the most common stuff that gets posted here with just links to the best thread so people can go to the whole conversation. They can see the many answers and jump in with a post if they want instead of starting new threads.

I think maybe something shouting READ ME FIRST or something like that might work better than calling it a FAQ. There is already a FAQ link for how to use this board, and I consider Saber Cherrys Newbie thread to absolutely be the FAQ for the game. (Much Kudus SB)

Thanks MUCH Zen for taking this on.

Good job Zen! One minor comment, I think the title of the thread "Noobie question" should be renamed. Unless you read it you don't know it contains info about Dominions acronyms.

very nicely done overview of different nations/themes (http://members.cox.net/nelsons/Dominions2_quick_reference_RC1.pdf) by somebody, found by random search.

Just hadn't heard from Cherry yet.

Just a quick note - the link to the mapping utilities I've put up has changed to http://home.Online.no/~rmoldskr/Dominions/ - the old link no longer works.

Dom II is finally available in Australia: Games Warehouse (http://www.gameswarehouse.com.au/longpage.asp?gameid=9415) has it for AU$79.95 (which is AU$10 more than I paid ordering direct from Shrapnel, but at least it is available here)

I've searched but...
I can't seem to find the link which describes the details for what each item does. Anyone remember where it can be found ??

Thanks !

Liga,

Your welcome. Thank you for your support of the game and helping to create a more friendly Mod community as well as Newbie Information. The HTML Version of the old FAQ is at the top of the Dominions II Game FAQ thread, which is partially the basis of how that FAQ is being built. I haven't made alot of adjustments too it partially due to time and partially due to waiting to see if Forum Upgrade will kill it. (I doubt it will, but still an issue nonetheless).

Andy, I've placed the Link in the Links thread. Thank you and enjoy Dom2 in Australia.

NT, I have no idea. I have a revised copy of the MIQR and SCQR as well as the RQR stored on my laptop and don't know if it is hosted anywhere as of yet. If I remember when I get to my home I will Email those out again and make sure everyone has them, that wants it.

Zen, I have seen that you have included my web site and my addendum to the links ... thank you ...

btw, where is gone the newbie sticky thread ? and also it miss a link to the html Version of the saber cherry newbies guide (that was in the newbie thread) ...

Finally in the mod thread you could include the link to the file with all the units name and Id and pictures (the one I have used to make the page http://arrakis.unimo.it/~ligabue/dom2/modding/allunits/index.php ... I have forgot to write the source in my web page and I'm not able to find anymore) ...

anyway, great work Zen ... thank you for your continuos contribution to the game!

good luck
Liga

The URL for my site has changed. The correct URL is now "http://www.dominions-2.org/index.htm". TIA.

Up until yesterday I didn't know if you were back from your familiy obligation so I never sent it to you. I'll be sure to send it to you; if you'd like.

I've been too busy since then to spend time on my AAR, but I have been keeping up with the website, as I consider running that an obligation on my part to the player community. Sure, go ahead and send it to me in an email attachment to "arryn@dominions-2.org", along with the other two if you have Versions newer than 3.0/1.0 (respectively for MIQR/SCQR).

TIA.
