Hope nobody minds me starting a new thread on this, rather than resurrecting an old one - but I have read them, honest.
So ... am I right in deducing that if I don't take at least 4 levels in a magic path when I create my Pretender, I need never bother with any blessing because it won't do anything? I know magic bonuses don't count, nor does empowerment - but is there any bless benefit for blessing with magic levels below 4?

Well, there is the substantial +3 morale boost for being blessed, which AFAIR is clearly mentioned in the manual, but which people seem to forget all about when comparing sacred with non-sacred units....
I quite like that default effect. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Sure, there is always a +3 moral bonus. The manual contains a complete table.

(Er, yeah. Sorry. I totally forgot about the +3 morale bonus. I kind of mentally binned it as not worth mentioning. I was really asking about any other effects ... ho hum. RTFM time for me ....)

On the topic of Blessings, what exactly is the level 9 blood Blessing "death curse". I cannot seem to find a spell in the manual to correspond.
Anyone know?

There is a chance that when killed the unit will "Curse" the killer.

They don't do much against heavy units but they tear through anything with 10 or less protection.

My personal opinion is the Blood 9 Blessing is almost totally useless in it's current form.
That being said, if I had to use it to it's most effectiveness, I'd probably do something that you can have alot of and could benefit from having some strength. Vestals work for this.

fountain of blood for diabolic faith marignon, in MP.
maybe that could be done. the blessing will help the flag's attack (on the rare times it connects, so you'ld likely want fire 4 or above), and the mass cursing may made others shy away from attacking you.

And they do die alot, and get replaced. At least this way as you lose the units you are decreasing the effectiveness of the enemy before you hit them the second time. I still think Id prefer 9fire and 9astral. I may try marignon again with a 4/4/4/4 and 9/9 pretender.

A 4/4/4/4 pretender would have units that gain 4 blessing effects?
Also...Empowering my pretender does not allow him to get better blessing effects? It's only at the initial setup?
Thanks! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Is it just me or do all the units blessed with Death9 all turn into the same soulless (Human zombie with broadsword and Chain Mail, #921 I think)? I don't remember the blessing working like this before the latest patch.
It's neat with Marignons flagellants but Jotunheim oughto get undead giants no?
