Do watchers (who are not leaders and therefore can be given no orders) autopatrol...
1. for the purpose of reducing unrest
2. for the purpose of detecting stealthed enemy units
3. both
4. neither (it's bugged, or works differently than above)
Any and all experiences with them appreciated.
Thanks for all replies,

You lead them with a commander and set the commander to patrol? It works for me that way.

My brief experience with them suggests they only function when they are set to Patrol, which generally means they need to be led by someone (with magical leadership). When patrolling, they are just like any other patrolling unit, only worth many times an ordinary unit for that purpose.
I too sort of expected them to work without being led. Perhaps they should be made into zero-leadership commanders so they can patrol without having to have a "lighthouse attendant". http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I'd like to vote for that suggestion also, I can't afford to have mages patrolling provinces when they can be researching, forging, or casting rituals even if I don't need them in battle.
Also, it appears to me that Watchers do 20 armor negating physical damage (by a magic weapon) instead of lightning damage, is that correct? (not that I have a problem with it as I don't want lightning immune scouts to walk all over them, I just want to make sure there's not some "hidden" attribute that makes it resistable)
