Mind BLasts against Mindless unit, bug?

I recently defended (as Ulm) in a battle against Rlyeh in a MP game, where the enemy army had a number of Illithids. The illithids spent a lot of their Mind BLasts on my Enlivened Statues, which are mindless (and hence immune to Mind BLast). I do not recall seeing Illithids Mind BLast any other Mindless unit, so I am wondering if this is a small bug in their targeting or in Statue designation as Mindless.

Has anyone else seen this?

Which mindless units did you try to bLast? Do you remember what order the Illithids had?

He said they were the kind you get with "Enliven Statues".
