The description implies that it helps mages target opponents.
Does this mean that it'll increase precision for fireball, etc?
Most of my spells seem to miss a lot and I wonder if this would help.

I believe so. Any spell that lists a Precision rating (less than 100) also benefits from the caster's precision, which in turn benefits from Eye of Aiming.

So if a mage w/ precision 10 casts a spell of precision 2 then he has an effective precision of 12?
Can someone confirm this?

Pretty sure that is correct.

The eye increases precision 7 or 8 and lost an eye drops 2 or something.

Eye loss drops 3 prec
Eye of Aiming is +8
Interestingly, neither of the artifact eyes give a precision bonus, but they take the eye loss hit.
Use only with prec 100 spells I guess.
Is the 2x autosleep from the green eye prec 100?

Why do you say use only with precision 100 spells?

Eye of prec improves the wearer's prec by +5 (Eye is +8 but corresponding eye loss gives -3).
This increased prec is useful for anything that use Prec rating, ie missile wpns and non-100 prec spells.
Try it on an Anathemant Dragon and see the result ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Why do you say use only with precision 100 spells? <font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Because if you use an artifact eye that has no precision bonus you get -3 to precision and have trouble hitting anything if you don't use precision 100 spells.
