I was attacking a independent province with barabarians in it. Shouldn't have been any problem since i had 40 or so blizzard warriors and around 20 storm guards and a couple of mages as well. To my big surprise all blizzard warriors attacked the barbarians in close combat and got wiped out in no time. Never seen this happend before Version 2.11.
Someone else run into somthing similar?

Not really that suprising, light to medium armoured troops get ripped to shreds by barbarians. Next time try bringing archers along, they can often kill enough barbarians to route them before they even reach your troops.

Uh, blizzard warriors *are* archers. No clue on the attacking behavior though, unless perhaps the wrong squad was set to attack closest by mistake.

I tested and Blizzard Warriors fire even with orders set to "none". My best guess is that at some point melee troops got mixed into thier group and changed the orders.

Im pretty sure it's not a problem with the orders since i used the same setup as in several previous battles and there they didn't go suicidal. The blizzard warriors had the "none" order and the storm guards had "guard commander" so even if i somehow managed to mix them up the blizzard warriors shouldn't have entered close combat.
