Well, I've returned from my Easter weekend to find the game upgraded to 2.11 .... fair enough, it was on the cards. I've upgraded too. All well and good.

But no. "Wrong dominions Version" when I connect (still port 2304, right?). But get this - it says "game Version 2.09" (shurely shome mishtake) and "your Version 2.07" (ditto). Even before I upgrade to 2.11 I was running 2.08 ....

Ho hum. Better put me to AI until I sort this out. Can anybody hear the words "reinstall" and "tedious" marching swiftly in the direction of this post? Maybe tomorrow - it's 1:20am now.

I was Pythium, btw.

Try to delete this game's files from your disk. Find the matching directory (with .2h and .trn files) and delete it. After that try to reconnect to the server and it should ask you to select nation. Select your nation which will redownload your Last .trn file. This procedure has a decent chance to cure your problem.

Version 2.07 = 2.08 and Version 2.09 = 2.11.

The numbers are slightly off because the numbers were set in development Versions that were too buggy to be released. So if Dominions says you are using Version 2.07 you are using an older Version or at least you have played your turn with an older Version. Try to play your turn again before connecting to the server and see if it works.

Um, thanks for all the replies - I didn't realise that setting to AI was irreversible. Still, since I've now missed about five turns in total, it's probably best. Sorry folks. Will argue against upgrading in the middle of any future game ....
