I see this thing and never forge it because I don't understand what it actually does. Sure it's nice to be lucky, but how nice? Do you get to re-roll in combat or something?

Thanks,

50% chance that a sucessful attack misses. Protects against melee/ranged attacks, whether or not they are physical/magical attacks or spells.

My HoF Strategos with 13 HP and 21 armor (iron skin) was just taken down by a single shortbow arrow.... to -7 HP!

Good Luck is good. Bad Luck is... surprisingly common.

What is that...a 3-4 sigma event? Oy.

I was under the impression that it was the same as the spell personal luck. The description of the spell includes the phrase 'blows or magic'.

I was also under that impression; hard to test when something misses because of luck; but I believe DeathDaemon is right, at least according to the item/spell description.

Luck protects against damage dealing spells as well as normal attacks. However it does not offer any protection against instakill spells like soul slay.

These are good items to have and easy to get in the early game. I like to send my commanders in to melee and an item like this really tips the odds in his favor.

The first attack didn't cause any damage, but all other attacks did harm the Sphinx - yet they caused only minor damage, sometimes as few as 1 point, while the Rod is supposed to deal 18 points of armor-negating damage. Eventually the Slayer autorouted.

So, my questions are:

(1) Is Luck supposed to negate 50% of all magic attacks or to reduce damage by 50%?

(2) Could it be that Luck gives 'Twist Fate' instead vs magic attacks? Or maybe even vs all attacks? It's not so easy to check the real effects of Luck in the VCR, and that glitch might well have existed for a long time.
