Plague hits, kills about 1/2 of the populace, i think 50+ death gems - but an obscure reference to a 'Crown of Darkness' in the province?
Is this just flavor text or is there now a site that can be uncovered?

Hrrrnk. In the Linux binary, 'Crown of Darkness' appears in the midst of the list of sites, so it seems possible. I've never had that event, 'tho.
If it's an actual site, you should be able to figure out what it does by making a tiny map with it as a knownfeature.

Hmm i need to figure it out exactly before the next server turn in the Net Server game im in http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif . Yea, it happened in my capital. Oh the joy.
How do i fix a particular magic site to a province in the editor? Notepad time?

'k, I got home and checked it out using a mini map designed by Gandalf.

It's a Death site, not a low-level one judging from the picture, which gives a 40% Thaumaturgy bonus, 3 death gems per turn, and spreads deadly diseases.

Those Death Gems will come in handy, although i might have to relocate my researching crew to an adjacent castle. Well, it was nice having a capital http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif .

As mentioned, the Crown of Darkness is an actual magical site, but I don't think it has appeared in your province because of that random event: It's just a rumor.

Eh, it should be clear soon enough from diseasing... although if you have a single death mage, Dark Knowledge is cheap, and apparently if you cast it from the same province you can check this without breaking your domes.

Well checking with both an Unholy 5 and Dark Knowledge has still left this site unfound. So im unsure if its capable of being found at all. I guess ill have to rustle up an Acashic with Ctis somehow in the distant future.

It's a Death site requiring a magic skill of 4 Death.

Yea but doesn't Dark Knowledge count as Death 9? I've searched with D.K. and haven't found anything yet.

as norfleet said, it was just flavour text - a rumour.
other magic sites shouldn't appear in your capital anyways.

The Deepest Cave can appear in your home province - its happened to me.

that's the result of a random event, I believe. I'm not sure if the Crown of Dardness can appear due to random events.
OT, i once had two Deepest Cave in the Province in the same province. Get it straight will you! one of you is deeper than the other!

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">No, they could both be equal depth, and thus be equally the deepest.

lol i can't believe you brought this back up to make that point
but it'ld still be wrong, since neither would then be the deepest; they'ld both be a deepest cave in the province

Nah it could be the deepest at the time when it was found. New cave, new record. o_0.
