View Full Version : Super maenad

I have just discovered that I have gained a very unusual maenad. Her name is Li T'ieh-Kuai, she a commander with AASSSDD (very interesting addition for Panagaea), but otherwise looks like an ordinary maenad. I didn't get an event notification that I know of, I already have all the vanilla Pangaea heroes, so it seems she just autospawned like all other maenads. Not that I'm complaining, of course, but it was nevertheless a surprise when I saw her, so I was wondering does anyone have more info on this "event"?

Cheers,

That's the reincarnation "feature".

It's been known to happen, that when a commander dies, sometimes, a unit that spawns at the same time is created with the magical abilities and name of the deceased individual. Illwinter is unable to ascertain why, exactly, this occurs at any given time.

Ah, so she's in fact a reincarnation of a Tien Chi heroine? I never saw her Tien Chi analogue, so I wouldn't know. Still, it's thematic - reincarnation in the true sense of the word - she is given a new life as someone else when her immortality couldn't save her any more.

Thanks for the info.

Hey, even if it's unintentional, it's still a fun feature. I do wonder though, what kind of commander died to give those paths?

Yes, it does have to be one of the funnest bugs I can recall in any game. Fortunately it's really rare, so I'd say it's a contribution rather than a problem.

Iron Crutch is a great mage, but stories abound of "Augh! Iron Crutch diseased my pretender/best mage/other hero/etc".

I just experienced my own "reincarnation" moment: A commander named Bifrons, perhaps the same as the Ice Devil, got reincarnated....as a Vampire! He came apparently empowered, too, with S4/W3 as his magic paths, which is two astral empowerments above his base....AND he came with three items, a Starshine, a Crystal Coin, and a Water Bracelet.

How cool is that? He came with bonus magic, bonus items, AND came on a chassis that doesn't suck!

What you mean to say is that items were on top of that, i.e that he had S6/W4 with items?

The reincarnated vampire came with S6/W4, including his equipped items....meaning that he had been empowered twice in Astral as well. Pretty sweet.

And why would anyone give an ice devil a water bracelet?

I had a situation like this arise that confused me. I was playing Ermor-Soul Gate and while looking through the heroes that had appeared in my provinces found this one: A long dead horseman (commander) with 4 air, 2 water, 4 astral, 3 nature and 5 holy. Other than those the stats were normal.

So on the happy occasions when someone gets one of these buggy units, do they go ahead and use them for all that they're worth, or what?

Why did he only have his base water-3, +1 for a water bracelet? It's not consistent.
