Does spell penetration stack with innate abilities? Like the aboleths enslave mind? My experiences would tend to say yes, when the innate ability is fired.

Which leads to question 2: What if the innate ability is melee oriented, like the VQ's life draining attack? If i threw a spell focus on her would her life draining become more deadly?

Which leads to question 3: What about static innate defensive magic abilities... most specifically blood vengeance. If i throw a spell focus on him does the blood vengeance get better? What if i was to cast the spell blood vengeance with spell penetration items up the wazoo. Would that make for a better blood vengeance. (just thought of that Last part off the top of my head or i would have tested it)

Spell focus and similar items only affect spells. Innate abilities like mind bLast or magic items like trident from beyond (kills one person with MR save) do not gain any benefit from a spell focus.

Didnt think so, but its that one tidbit of information that you DONT ask about that ends up being worth its weight in gold. Ahh well.
