Anyone know what the formula is for the appearence of Vinemen in a particular province? It is clearly keyed to dominion, although the presence of an actual forest doesn't seem to matter. It is highly variable from province to province even with the same dominion.

You need positive dominion OFC.

Wow!

So if you controlled 40 provences with an average dominion of 6 then you would receive somewhere between 40 and 240 vinemen a turn?

Thats a lot of fodder!

Quite a number of provinces received no vinemen and none of a number of Dominion 10 provinces received 10. Perhaps something more like:

(0 to current_dominion) - 1 / province

I know for sure that several provinces that had >5 dominion received zero vinemen. I cannot be sure that you cannot receive # vinemen = dominion, as the sample size is too small. It was just my impression that the mean number was smaller than (1+dominion)/2, and that the number with zero was significant.

After all, I checked this only once, superficially and that was a long time ago. I remember I came to the conclusion it functioned just like the auto-longdead the PoD gets. Still, the 6 vinemen in a dominion-6 province happened in a recent test (it was in my capital and I had just cast the enchantment the previous turn) and I think at least that part is accurate.

If you still have the game, maybe you could feed us with accurate numbers if you're in the mood for. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

It works probably in the same way as carrions woods gets its vinecritters. Doubt the developers would develop a completely new system every time.
