Do these work? Supposedly they spread their temperature scale even into opposing dominion.
They don't seem even to be all that effective at spreading your preferred temperature into your own dominion, much less enemy dominion.
Does anyone know what the rule for these is supposed to be and whether or not they actually do anything?

This has been posted before, and no real answers were forthcoming. I no longer choose Desert Heat, because I just fail to see it being effective. I dont know if any developers or smart programming-type peoples have looked into the mechanics to see if they are working as they should, so I've no clue, but I just dont see the heat spreading. Never tried Heart of Winter, since I dont play cold nations, but I suppose whatever mechanics underly DH underlies HoW as well.

I was messing around with Caelum / Heart of Winter Last night and I didnt see any additional effect over my normal cold scale. Maybe its just busted?

Both allow for your heat scale to spread outside of the regions where your dominion exists. Without them, you will only shift the heat scale in a province that has a high level of your dominion.

It seems almost like a type of "restless worshippers" for heat/cold only.
However, despite the description, it seems as if the effects are negligable, although I suppose this would be hard to demonstrate.

About the only thing I've noticed about these two is that they make your temperature more reliable. Having played Caelum a lot, it is something that I _have_ noticed. Whether it would be better to have 1 or 2 higher Dominion as opposed to the Temperature, I'm not sure.
