Magic sites are set to 0, No nations/themes that can recruit a blood mage are allowed (Mictlan, Jotenheim, Vanhiem, base Pan, Marigon DF, black forrest ULM and abysia). Also no pretenders who start with blood magic (Should only be vampire queen, fountain of blood, and lord of the wild), though you are allowed to add blood to other pretenders. port is 2248. I'll be playing Caelum.

2 of each gem producing items per player are also allowed.

research is very difficult, and abysia isn't allowed, forgot to include them when I made the list.

Any house rule about Clams, Fever Fetishes, or Bloodstones?

lol, why would you even be worrying about those? w/ 0 magic, you pretty well have your starting gem income and that's it...

All the more reason to make clams, bloodstones and fever fetishes!

perhaps we should forbid bloodhunting too or it may only be used for forging purposes .

otherwise the races with 2 random pick mages like atlantis , ryhleh , tien chi will bloodhunt and have serious advantages i think .
averagely every fourth such mage has a bloodpick .
they should reach blood 4 even with vh research quite quick and can at least summon serpent fiends then or probably even devils / storm demons etc.
they are quite potential at our special gamesettings ihmo

nothing wrong with blood hunting. As for Atlantis, Ri'leh, and Tien chi, when was the Last time you heard any complain that any of them were overpowered?

ps. the answer to my question is before the paralize bug was fixed.

You won't find any in plains, but there's still a chance in forests, mountains, wasteland, etc.

Having played several games much like this (sites 0 or sites 5), the sites you _do_ find become much more valuable, especially when you stumble across one of the rare / high value ones.

in my Last game with these settings I did find a magic site in a plains, found a total of 2 in 8 provinces.

Awesome house rules! Even Cohen has not come
up with such great ones.

So, you have picked Caelum, made well-equiped
summoned SCs nigh impossible, and forbidden the
use of Jotun and Vanheim, who are the best at
fighting Caelum.

I suggest a new house rule to be applied to all
Mosehansen games with ****ed up house rules:
'The game creator picks his race after at least
half the players have picked theirs.'

Yeah, gotta love the way these people come up with oddball sets of rules designed to cater to a specific theme/nation/strategy, and then pick the theme/nation that has the greatest advantage in it.

He declared his rules and choices in advance. A certain individual has taken to hypocritically attempting to join official tournament games to pronounce his own vision of house rules of what they may not choose, then telling people not to dictate to other players how to play the game.

my Last game with these settigns I played Machaka, and am doing very poorly, due to bad map position. Caelum got knocked out early, and Ctis and Marigon are doing the best.
And i Banned Joten and Van because they have blood magic, which in a game with this few gems would be a huge advantage.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Which just means that the nations whose mages have randoms are the ones that will be able to do blood magic. As will those pretenders who add blood magic, while for some reason you ban the ones that start with blood???

Hey,

I am a total rookie, never having played anyone except the wimpy hard Comps. But I was thinking of trying my hand at MP and playing Ulm in this game (and dying early, no doubt). I see that Ulm is listed as anonymous. Does that mean it is taken or not?

its not taken, for some unknown reason its showing players in unfilled slots on the server, dont' know why.

I agree something seems wrong with the game. I believe that I am the only person in the game who has not had a stale turn as yet. I am also the only person who has taken a second province. Also, Machaka has already become computer controlled. And we are only on turn 3!!! Is so many people gone for the weekend? Or is there something bigger at work here?

It does seem to be a non-game so far.

something has been wierd about this game since I created it, Mosehanson showed nations there that were not in game, if 4 people are screwed up I'm just goign to stop it.

Game has been restarted, and it isn't screwed up like the old one. I'll be playing caelum again

Hey to all you Dom players out there!

This game has been stuck for a while. If you are interested in a low magic game, post in here and ask for a slot. It would be nice to get this game restarted. So far, there are only three people in it.

Newbies welcome, of course, as I am a total newbie myself.

May I still join?

Tumba
August 2nd, 2004, 12:48 PM
And if I can, what race can I take. I understan that this game was once full. So people want to claim their old races?

The Panther
August 2nd, 2004, 02:45 PM
Take any race but the three already loaded. Whoever was in this game a few weeks ago before the restart is long gone now. We played about 4 turns and well more than half of those people staled most of their turns. Everybody but me had at least one stale due to game mechanic problems of some sort.

were up to 4 players, but the game has been open for almost 2 weeks now, should I switch to a smaller map, like aran, and launch, keep eye and launch, or keep waiting for more players?

A smaller map sounds ok, but it would be nice to have a couple of players more.

The_Tauren13

i'll take C'tis

Grim Knight
August 5th, 2004, 12:47 PM
I would be interested in playing Ermor in this game. I have thus far only played SP. So this will be my first MP game.

The Panther

Six players seems enough to start on a smallish map.

odd_enuf
August 5th, 2004, 09:09 PM
hmm, is eye too big for six, i think it should be playable, I'll launch once people wiegh in, or on sat.

id prefer urgaia... do you people want to vote on the map?

odd_enuf
August 6th, 2004, 02:56 AM
Urgania is tiny, I wouldn't play with more then 4 on that map, we could do Aran, Karan, or even cradle.
I'm pretty flexible on the map, voting is fine wiht me

The Panther

Eye works well with low people because it is wraparound. That is fine with me.

Haven't played the eye, so can't really comment. But I cannot see any reason why it wouldn't be fine with me.

odd_enuf has been set to AI now.

I am curious though, did odd_enuf come back and set himself AI, or did one of the other players contact Esben Mose Hansen to get him set to AI?

The Panther
September 7th, 2004, 10:29 AM
It turned out that he did not have a password for his pretender, so setting him to AI was simple and should have been done several turns ago. Of course, the AI will never survive the mass invasion, but at least it can sort of fight back now.

Grim Knight
September 7th, 2004, 11:09 AM
I see, and it will make things move faster.
