and the topic of ("Dominions II: Technical/Hardware Issues" Q: I'm having problems with starting Dominions 2 with Win98 or WinME.) is taking me nowhere.

i get a blue screen with a VDD error. i have win ME with a geforce 3 card.

Try here (http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB74&Number=236200&Forum= f74&Words=%2Bwin98&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Main=2361 89&Search=true&where=bodysub&Name=&daterange=1&new erval=5&newertype=y&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev= #Post236200).

There is also a rather amusing but sadly mainly uninformative thread here (http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=243873&page=&view=&sb =5&o=). With any luck, Raven will PM you. *cough* Or maybe not.

That's all I can tell you, hope you find something in there that helps.

actually, i get a blue screen error when i boot up (that wont let windows load up in non-safe mode) after trying to run dominions (yes, dom2 messed up my system). this all started after i formated my comp recently (meaning im using the most recent drivers). reinstalling the geforce drivers will fix my boot up error though. but i still cant get dom2 to work. ill tried to turn down my graphics acceleration by two steps, but i would really like a fix, not a work around.

help please

ok, i figured it out. i tried all settings with graphics acceleration, colors, and the sdl.dll (old and new). none of that worked. but what i did find that worked is turning the fps on the refresh rate on the desktop off of optimal. any number would work. hope this gets fixed in the next patch!
