View Full Version : Global spell order of events?

Hi,

Does dispel occur before or after global spells are cast?

In other words if I cast a global and a dispel on the same turn and there are already 5 globals up, will my dispel knock out one of the 5 (assuming it's strong enough) and then my global takes the empty slot?

Thanks,
John

could go either way.

They're both ritual spells, and so are resolved in the same step of the sequence of play. In that situation, I believe the order of resolution is indeterminate.

Since this is the case throughout the entire sequence of play, not just for ritual spells, it would be very interesting to know whether "indeterminate" means explicitly randomized, or just executed in the order that the events are read from wherever they're stored, or something else.

It is explicitly random, which makes these things a bit risky.
