View Full Version : Decay and Lifeless Units

Unless I'm mistaken, it seems that the spell "Decay" affects "Lifeless" units. The desciption of the spell:
"This spell makes the flesh of living beings wither and decay, leaving bare bone"
Seems to imply that the spell only affects living beings, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it kill "Lifeless" units.
Am I mis-interpreting the description of the spell?
Thanks,

Decay effects everything.
Though I don't know if it shouldn't or not. Based on the name used (Decay), everything decays, even EMF over time. My take on the spell was like Raiders of the Lost Arc, when the guys all instantly start aging to the point of death, then bones, then dust, then nothing http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

BTW, is this resisted by magic resistance, or does any hit (that gets past Protection??) doom the target?

Resisted by a normal MR check. Bleed is the same way and coincidentally the same MR check.
A good non-resistance spell early on is Hand of Dust. Unfortunately getting a semi-resilent caster to cast it on SC's is almost as hard as it is, to get them in the first place http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif.

Interesting. Thanks Zen! One can never have enough SC antidotes. /threads/images/Graemlins/Bomb.gif
