Newbie Question : SC with Battle Affliction

Once your pretender gets a battle affliction, is it there for life? Unless you are arcos or something?

May I suggest downloading Liga's Manual Addendum? It can be downloaded from here (http://www.dominions-2.org/downloads/manual_addenda.pdf) .

This file answers many questions, and explains all the ways to heal Battle Afflictions in chapter 6.2.7. If you do not have access to any of the means listed to heal your Battle Afflictions, they will indeed remain for ever (it is a bit different for a Pretender though).

if your pretender is immortal or has recuperation they will eventually go away.

otherwise you need the chalice artifact or the Gift of Health global ritual or to summon a faerie queen (who can't heal afflictions on undead pretenders though).
