Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious, Tyrant, but you do know you need to create a new game on mosehansen, from scratch right? I can see our initial game is stopped, but it looks like no new game has been created. While we're in this state, it's possbible for someone else to steal our slot, so it'd be good to get the new game created asap.

It wasn't obvious, i never started a game before. I set it to resart, and we seem to have lost our spot. :<

Hmm...I checked and there have been no games added since i did that, and yet it now says there is no room at the inn. I do not see any way to delete the game either. I'm stumped.

Dammit! I know the slot was open for a couple of hours there - maybe I should've just created a stub game until we got this cleared up. Someone must've started a game that had been stopped (my best guess is Throne of Heavens).


Any suggestions?


First off, I'll post a message in the Throne of Heaven's thread, asking what their status is, and to see if they will be stopped soon (again). If they really do intend to run, then I suggest we send a PM asking Esben if we can get a new game open despite the limit.

I did post in the Throne of Heavens thread, but haven't heard any response yet. I imagine they will be stopping their game soon.

Well, this is clearly my bad. But for future reference, here's how it works: if some dufus (now who's the dufus in our case? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/redface.gif) screws up his upload, or for some other very compelling reason the game owner decides that the game must be re-initialized (and I specifically do *not* mean restarted in the sense of using the restart command on mosehansen), then the game owner can stop the game and immediately recreate a new game on mosehansen, with the same settings as the original.

This means that everyone must reupload their pretenders to the new game, and it's certainly a PITA for all involved. That said, I have done it for others in games that I own. (At least I can say this is the first time that I'm the dufus!)

Me too! Personally, I'd be fine w/ playing on any host that's available. Looking at the Throne of Heaven's thread, it's very hard to imagine that that game will continue on, but I don't know how long it will take them to figure that out.

One other thing you might want to do, is to disable client start on your game options, and only re-enable it when you are sure the game is ready to go (and then of course start the game yourself). It's just a nicety, but I have seen a player accidentaly start a game before.

Personally, I think having a water power on a Karan map game is a good thing, even if we go to 7 players. Is Vigabrand still around - looks like he's the only one who hasn't re-uploaded.

I also would not have a problem w/ putting it on hold. Or to be specific, put it on 7 day QH, or something like that. Tyrant, if you do this, make sure you don't actually stop the game, as we could lose our slot.

Also, whenever you change the options, it is possible that the game will be stopped, even if you don't do this explicitly (I believe this only happens if someone is connected while you make the change). So, whenever changing options double check to make sure the game is still running when you're done.

Wow, your turn sure got in quickly from the post!

I don't know the details, but iirc, there is a known bug where if a high percentage of your income comes from alchemizing, then this message is generated. Most often this shows up w/ the Alchemist's Stone, but the artifact is not required to make this bug occur.

I apologize for my impulsive decision. I just got back from a Living Greyhawk Battle Interactive and I was still in aggressive combat mode. While staring at the screen, I could just see your minions taunting me across the border, and my insecurity led me to strike a bit hastily. I would of course be willing to cease hostility, and allow civility to prevail, now that I am back in my normal mental state. We wish to be friends with the great demonic empire! When started the game i said we would switch to 48 on majority vote. Right now it seems only Kel wants to switch, but I do not want to cause a stale turn by returning to 24 hr schedule.

So it's kinda on you atm Kel, can you handle 24, or is that going to put you in an untenable position?

I have been having some serious problems making turns (due to some RL stuff) and I apologize for that. I actually thought I could make them and, in fact, did my turns for 2 of those 3 stales but somehow I must have messed something up because when I turned them in, it just ignored them and downloaded a new, stale turn (which means, I guess, that I missed the deadline).

Kind of disappointing since I actually managed to summon an AQ and a Fire King away from my erstwhile opponent. I can make the next turn but it seems RL responsibilities are over taking me, atm. Let me know what you want me to do.

Speaking for myself i'm perfectly willing to adjust the schedule so that you can continue. If we drop down to 3 day host or take a break for a week would that help? It seems likely that the coming holidays will disrupt the game to some extent in any case, and i have massive changes in my RL coming up as well, so it works for me.

Anyone else have a problem with that?

Honestly, I feel bad since we already had an extension and enough things are coming up that I would rather not keep being a pain the rear. I feel guilty enough as it is. The only question is do you want me to advertise for a sub or is there a better alternative ? It's a good nation and still in excellent shape.

I think he's in a pretty good position - I would vote for trying to find a replacement. Its' probably bad for Ermor and possibly Atlantis, so I think they should decide.

I think the perfect solution is to simply have Abysia run continuous stales - that's working just great for me!

Seriously, Abysia is (at least by province count) in the #1 position, this is one case where we should find a replacement. I imagine the game is still playable w/ Abysia as AI, but it does rather muck things up.
