"@#$$*& had an unexplained increase in wealth this turn. This is probably caused by cheating"
Anyway to tell if this is a problem or just a bug?

There is no way to know for certain unless you give a 3rd party the Mpass or the normal pass and see if anything is quirky, and even then it's fairly hard to tell if something is awry unless it is blatant.
With Paranoia on your side you should probably have it checked out, unless you know everyone you are playing with and wish to trust them. There are a few false triggers.

It was my me in Fool's Lament 2. Is the host the only one who can save the turn? I think the players can't access the fatherland file, right?
I did nothing out of the ordinary that turn. Alchemized a little (without the stone or an alchemist), blood sacrificed a little, had no income events, etc. I have been taking a bunch of provinces recently and there's a huge spike in that graph.
I wouldn't mind having the turn checked out just so I don't start being accused of being the second coming of Norfleet.

The message pops up regularly whenever someone alchemizes for more than say 20% of his income... Got it twice in the 10 first turns of a MP very recently (once *I* was pointed out and know I only did alchemy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif ) .
It seems to have been changed in 2.14, because I don't remember seeing it regularly before.
It makes the whole anticheat features quite useless/unusable IMHO.

yes. the number of false positives is absurd. I received the notice under 2.14 for using the alchemist's stone. Whenever it happens in a game, I just ignore it. Sacrificing blood slaves also seems to cause the message to appear sometimes. Anti-cheat at the moment is a complete failure, due to all these false positives http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

It's highly unlikely that would happen, so have no fear. OTOH, I do miss his contributions to the OT threads. He made them ... livelier. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif

Blood sacrifices sometimes produce strange results including cheat reports. I do not remember if a fix made it into 2.14.
I don't know about alchemizing, but it is quite possible that alchemy with bonus items are borked.

well, in my very first SP game (not so long ago!) I got this message many times but I did nothing particular during those turns, just won lots of money...

I got that in 'Live and Learn' when I alchemized some fire gems using the artifact stone. I think it happens if you move it around on that turn.

I am testing Mictlan in an SP game under 2.14. I have received that message twice now in the Last 10 turns. I am inclined to believe Kris about the sacrifice thing, for I am sacrificing so many slaves now that I am even pushing back an Ermor CPU 10 dominion. But I am also using the alchemist stone and trading fire gems for money, so that could have an effect too.
And no, I don't have to cheat to beat the CPUs!!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
