Global Enchancement in Effect after Pretender dies

Last night I noticed that several of the global spells were still in effect after the computer pretender had been vanquished. Is this normal, or is it some kind of bug.

It's a bug, albeit Illwinter thought they fixed it with Version 2.14. Did you start the game under 2.12, by any chance? I think they've said it might still happen with games started prior to 2.14, but if you ran it with 2.14 the whole way, it's evidence that they definately didn't get the bug.

I also hit that bug in 2.14. How did your enemy die? Mine was still "alive" because he Ritual of Returned away during a fight in the home province.
