Hello!
I've been toying with the demo for a few days, and ordered the game yesterday. Waiting anxiously for it to arrive http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Anyway, reading this forum I see lots of acronyms used. I believe some/most of them are used in the manual, but is there a list for the acronyms used on this forum? I didn't find them in the FAQ, perhaps it is stupidity or temporal blindness, in which case I'd like to recieve the push to the correct direction http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Acronyms like SP, RP etc. Without understanding the acronyms the information recieved is a bit limited http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Any such list available?
Cheers,
-Jarkko

Thank's tka http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Clears up a lot!
RP is then Rainbow Pretender too (just like RB)?
And I've seen SP used in connection to MP-gaming, so I guess somebody could use SP instead of SC?

Yes, AFAIK.

I have never heard that SP could mean SC. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
Maybe somebody can correct me if I am wrong.

Some things you might want to know:
Mad castleing: Someone who is building cheap castles in virtually every province to make it nearly impossible to conquer his territory in a short time. If played well this is an important part of a winning strategy
Clam hoarding: Astral / Water Nations use their water gems to forge insane amounts of clams, which produce one astral gem each per turn. This is one of the more successfull winning strategies.
Drive by priesting: This means you gather a lot of priests, script them to banish banish banish flee and attack large enemy undead hordes. Mostly used against ermor, this is a common strategy.
S&A: Tien Chi Theme Spring and Autumn
GoH: Gift of health nature spell. One of the few possibilities to get rid of afflictions, so this is a spell you will see in most games.
GoR: Another important nature spell, you can change units into commanders. Especially usefull to high level summons like Tartarian Giants, Doom Horrors, Vastnesses and so on (although the Last one is no summon)
Hope this helps a bit

Thank's PrinzMegahertz, I was wondering what clam hoarding is, altough I had a good guess (as it seems now) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I guess SP would mean "Super Pretender" in the case of a competitve game; but SC would probably be more accurate, and less confusing here.
Speaking of SC: it stands for Super Combattant, that is any single creature powerful enough to fight on its own (in the early game, it would be any creature able to take Independent provinces without any sort of support, and without breaking a sweat).
RP would be more like "Roleplay" to me, when you are actually your Pretender (or any other unit for this matter). But then, such is the problem with acronyms. A Rainbow Mage (yet another name for them) would be a Pretender with a few picks in several magic paths, if not all of them; its purpose would be to find most sites, forge many items and cast quite a few spells.
And you have the Internet lingo acronyms, such as lol (for lots of laughs, or laughing out loud), IM(H)O (In My (Humble) Opinion), IIRC (If I Recall Correctly), AFAIK/R (As Far As I Know/Recall) or BTW (By The Way). I do not have any lind at hand for one such list of common acronyms though.

Yes, AFAIK.
Most often RP is used to mean 'research point(s)'. As in, "an unexperienced Seraph is worth 5 RP in a magically neutral dominion". Or, "I'm 34 RP short of learning Orb Lightning this turn".

Well, like I said, I need definitions to know what acronyms mean. Without definitions you can launch all the acronyms you want, but it won't make me understand them (which might of course be the intention and a "hilarious" way to show have st00pid the n00b is)... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

What I found "hilarious" is the VQ (Vampire Queen) seemed to be everyone's favorite pretender (and thus favorite acronym) not so long ago. There are clues in that list that let me think you fetched it from an older thread (?), so I was somewhat surprised this one was missing.
For JK and KO (the Illwinter team), they use their initials when posting on this board.
