Linux: Dom2 icon?

I used to run Dom2 with WinXP, but I am working with Linux so I am trying to run Dom2 under Linux as well. I can play now, but there is still a big issue:
How do I get a decent Dom2-icon displayed on my desktop links? KDE seems to accept only *.png files as custom icons, and converting the dom2icon.ico file to .png gives an ugly result! What is that dom2ikon.icns file for? What did I do wrong? Where is the linux compatible icon?

I have not very much experience with linux, I am just a stupid user doing ordinary office work on it...

You can grab one of these...
http://www.dom2minions.com/~minion/icons/

and convert it to a png. Check to see if you have the "convert" command or "gif2png" command on the machine
