If I as Ulm:Black Forest recruit several Fortune Tellers (who according to the excel sheet I dl:ed cancel 5% of bad events), do their bad-events-avoiding stack? And if they do stack, is it a straight 5% deduction for each (so 20 Fortune Tellers would mean no bad events at all) or is it a .95 modifier (so having 20 Fortune Tellers would mean 0.95^20=35% chance of bad event actually happening)?

Each of them has its own chance of preventing the event, so latter.

The latter for sure. I have had two bad events in one turn, with a screenful of fortune tellers in my capital. By the way, doesn't it seem that the capital city gets more than its share of events?

Your capital is the standard target for spells like hurricane, blight, baleful star, black death, which make it seem like it gets more events.

And I imagine that that kind of bad event can't be averted by anything but domes if caused by another nation specifically throwing it at you...
