In a test game, I have a Castellan (strength 10) leading a longbowman (strength 11) and an axeman (strength 10) who are seiging an unoccupied Fortified City (defense value 100). The very first turn they seige, they breach the walls.

According to Liga's manual addenda file, the formula for the amount of damage done to the walls each turn is:

Total of all of seigers' seige strength minus total of all defenders' defense strength.

Seige strength = (strength^2/100) + bonuses.

So, each of my units should have a seige strength of 1.
I should do 3 damage to the walls per turn, not 100.

What's going on here?
Thanks,
Merry

I suppose it's because the fortress is *unoccupied*, as you did notice. The 3 guys just have to climb in ... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif

There needs to be at least 1 (one) unit in a castle for it to be occupied and count as defense.

Thanks. By the way, do troops set to "guard commander" contribute to the seige?

if the commander himself is seiging, then yes
