Zen's Mod's rule. You should try them out if you aren't too busy playing HL2 or V:Bloodlines.

Heh, I must be really out of the gaming loop, I have no idea idea what those are. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Dominions, Game of Games, Lurker on the Hard Drive, Destroyer of the Calendar, does not permit such pretenders to intrude upon it's domain!

Well, lots of players showed up for the blitz, so a new one is scheduled for the same time this sunday as well. Same settings as before (except for the addition of Zen's scale mod and updateing the other mods to the latest Versions).

Bump. The Sunday referred to is today, the time, for those GMT challenged http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif is about 4 hours from the time of this post. The turnout Last week was good, and if you'd like to get in on the fun, you'd be welcome.

Which would be noon EST, 10 am mountain time by my calculations, which was half an hour ago. Currently only Alexti and I have shown up.

(Would suggest mentioning a couple of common time zones when posting - I was thinking GMT was mountain time at first, not Greenwich Mean.)

Whoops!

I didn't stop to notice that the original post was in error - 1900 GMT was meant. A bit less than an hour from the time of this post, sports fans!

Okay - I'm going to give the hosting via pbem a shot, as I've just made a batch file and javascript to compress all turn files (with separate internal zip files w/ passwords for those that needed them), so I can send one email to everyone with just the one zip file.

Ok, another bump to let everyone know that a new game is being started this week at the same time.

I'd like to suggest Cirlani as a good small map for the likely number of players there'll be, giving a chance of the game being resolved that day. (Those who don't have it can download ahead of time from Illwinter's site (http://www.illwinter.com/dom2/maps.html).

Also, just to get things going more quickly, are we going with the "standard" settings? IE :

Indies 6
Sites 50
Normal Research
Normal Richness
Zen's Pretender and Spell Mods
Renaming On

Graphs?

1900 GMT - that's ... 1400, 2 PM Eastern US, 11 am California?

Once again a bump to remind people that another game will organize this coming sunday as well.

Yet another bump to attract new players this sunday.

I want to play this sunday but I'll be travelling home for xmas http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

So - I think a blitz game is intended for today (Sunday) at 1900 GMT, aka 2 pm EST, 11 am California time. Not sure if it'll be 2.14 or 2.15, using the latest Version of Zen's Pretender and Spell mods - possibly his Scales mods. (Scales, while very nice, seemed a bit unbalanced when it comes to certain themes like Man's LoT Last week.)

The Versions are Pretenders 2.0, Spells 1.7, and Scales 1.1. The mods can be found here on Zen's page (http://www.techno-mage.com/~zen/).

No problem, the game has gone PBEM. I don't know if you or Arch want to take it up? Otherwise we can look for a sub.

Any word from Zen or Arch? Or do we set Tien Chi AI and get started again?

Meanwhile more holidays are coming... Are there any plans to organize few more blitzes during that time?

Cainehill
December 23rd, 2004, 02:00 AM
I could deal with a blitz this Sunday, at least.

quantum_mechani
December 23rd, 2004, 03:34 AM
I won't be able to make it this sunday, but certainly next sunday. I will turn T'ien Ch'i in the Last blitz AI if Zen hasn't claimed it by the 26th. Hopefully you can still get a
game together this week.

Another update: I'm sending out the PBEM turns today.

Also looking for more players for a blitz game today and tomarrow.

Cainehill

I'll be around tomorrow.

Usual settings? (Zen's latest pretender and spell mods - what about scales?)

In case any of the new players who expressed interest in MP games are interested for Sunday, here's where you can find the mods (http://www.techno-mage.com/~zen/).

The game gets organized (and diplomacy takes place) on the gamesurge IRC network ( servers include irc.gamesurge.net and netfire.tx.us.gamesurge.net ) in the #dominions channel.

I'd be interested in playing a blitz today, but I am IRCnewb. Can I get more a more explicit address for gamesurge?

I think it is quite likely that there will be a game today. But since it hard to predict when players will show up, the best way to be sure to catch it is to leave an IRC window open to the channel.
