Alchemy bugged?

I have a philosophers stone on my pretender. When use alchemy with him, there doesn't seem to be a change in the ratio of gem converted. I tried this with Alchemist Pretender too. Am I missing something?

Alchemy and the philosophers stone only modify the result when you alchemize fire/earth gems to gold, and not when you convert one type of gem to another. I thought it would modify gem conVersion as well myself.

That does not make much sense. I hope they fix that in the next patch.

Actually, it makes very much sense, lossless alchemy would just be too damned good.

Indeed, it makes a lot of sense, this is not a bug but a feature. You can get more gold for your gems, but not free gems.
