Nice! How much longer must I wait ?
Is the glade guard intended to have two weapons and a shield? He will attack with both and get a very high defence.

Awesome. The one problem I had with Dominions II is that I could not slaughter
elves. The Tuatha and the Vanir just don't send the girly treehugger vibe.
Your guys, on the other hand, do it perfectly. Unicorns! Oh, boy, oh boy...
I expect to have as fun as the first time my Bretonians lances cleaned the
board of wood elf regiments on Turn III.

Well, I hoped that the Glade Guards would choose between weapons in combat while wearing a shield but if it's not the case I'll change that. I was going after the princip that bowmen can choose between weapons. None of the weapon I gave the Glade Guards boost att or deff, they only give diffrent kind of dmg (spear 3 dam, long sword 5 dmg). The purpose I meant for the Glade Guard was for defending but lack a little speed vs. othe wood elves units.
Alot of things will happen for the mod this week, cuz I have extra vacation payed by my employer http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif (a bonus I got)
The unicorns protection have change from 10 to 5. and increased the gold cost.

Though I have to inform that FOL(forest of loren) will make Pythium unplayerable when using FOL. I hope people won't mind. Well Pythium is playerable in a way, but some of the units are change due to I'm "borrowing" one of their sites. The Glade Rider, Glade Rider General, Glade Guard Champion and Wardancer is done. (I'm posting some screenshot of them a bit later).

Especially your Glade guard shield looks cool almost like from an AOW game . Did you draw that yourself or has any of the normal dominion nations this shield already ?

All done by modifying already existing units. cut'n'paste', recolouring, rotating and adding a pix here and there.
The Glade Guard shield is C'tis shield I rotated, added a little bit of shading, a pix or two and a symbol on the shield.
I was thinking of making the Dracasia mod finish, perhaps starting from the scratch again and rethink the theme so it fit to the mod commands that are existing, though people have expressed that I should make another warhammer mod after FoL.

Oh one tiny thing -- to me a composite bow just seemed odd on elves. I think a longbow (or a shortbow if need be) would be more thematic?

Hmmmm...you may have a point there. I could solve this by adding a new weapon type, Elven long bow (same stats as comp bow)

Just updated the screenshots (check the first post).
Pictures of the Faeries and a Faery queen. Plus Glade Riders and Wardancers.
The Faeries aren't completly done, I have to figure out what kind of weapon or alike they gonna use.
All the composite bows shall be changed with Elven Long bow.
Also the wardancers is missing their stealth skill.
The Glade Guards now only wearing Spear, instead of long sword and spear.

This mod looks great!
One thing I noticed tho was that Wardancers are a 22 defense unit with two attacks? All you'd need to do is cast Protection or Legion of Steel on them and they'd be absolutely vicious. I hope you made them expensive?

Yeah all the units have insanely high defense, which, while definitely thematic, seems rather strong. I hope the nation has weak magic or something to account for it...

Don't worry. There will be pros and cons.
One of them are 5 of the units are only recruitable at the starting province.(Unicorn, Silver Unicorn, Moonlight Mistress, Treant and Waywatcher)
Another one is FoL recieved only 60% of normal resources and 80% gold due to lacking skill of getting/working with metal etc.
3 units and 5 commanders can be blessed, which also means you can only buy up to 10 each turn if you have a dominions strenght of 10 (so this one is both pro and con)
The screenshots are some days old so some of the stats are obligated. Wardancers def skill is 18

Now there's a thoroughly excellent idea. Ideally, we could have two versions of each nation - one used when played by a human, the other when played by a computer.

I like it too. Although the AI may still buy lots of worthless independents, at least it'll have good national troops. I recall someone else suggesting a mod to give weak independents (milia, etc.) extremely high resource cost to cut down on that problem too.

The problem was that there's a limitation on the length of unit description. I'm a roleplayer more than stategist so I like long descriptions...and I found I spelling error http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
By the way, I was thinking maybe making the Treant to a leader instead of as unit.
Here's my thought:
* It doesn't have any ability to lead any army.
* Item slots: 3 misc
Including its already added abilities:
* Slow
* Unique: Only avaible at your starting province.
* Takes double damage from fire
* Doesn't eat
* Recupation
* Forest survival
* Regeneration: slow - 4 hit points (script: regeneration 5, for every 100 hit point it heals 5)
* Trample
* Stealth 10
* fear 5
Though it's powerfull creature it's easy to kill with fire.
Any thoughts?

Maybe make the Treant a Magic Being and then make a leader version with Magical Leadership only, so it can lead other Treants and pixies, but not be a general of elves?

All the regular units and commanders is done!!!
I'm now going to make Pretenders (3-5) and joinable heroes (4).
There's is a chance that a beta release of my mod will be avaible next week! Don't flame if it gets delay due to some unforseen complication.
A change I made is that the dryads don't shiftshape due to I can't make it work (by stupidity or bug, I dunno http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif ).

Any way the developers would consider merging some or all of these units as independents into Dominions_3 ??
For units developers felt were balanced these can be placed as another type of independents which guard provinces.
For units developers felt were unbalanced these can still be available within the editor to the map makers.

Agile and swift like the wind, beauty like summer breeze through the leaves in the trees and though fragile as the wing of a playfully butterfly. The Elves gentle language can charm the most bewilded beast and lullaby humans into sweet dreams. At the meadows and groves the noble unicorn lives. Drinking from the stream of lifes, jumps jolly and playfully among the giggleling young elven maids, while the birds praising the spring from the tree top and two swallows fly high above the cloudless sky. From the distance almost unseen for the untrained eye, a treant are slumbering among the trees. Though get wakening by cheerfully elven children teasing it with a feather under its nose and sneezes.
In a clearing far into the deepest of the forest, elven druids are studying ancient runes inscripted on a stone henge, while mumbling enchanting words by fewest understand.
At night when the moon is full and most of the forest is at sleep, small twinkeling lights dances in the moonlight, spreading warmth and tranquility to those who embrace it. The hymnes of the elders are whipering in the trees telling the story of forgotten times.

Unicorn blood is supposed to grant immortality... or at least cure all wounds. I wonder if there is a way to integrate that into the mod?
"Oh no, my Cyclops lost his eye... better attack Forest of Loren and slaughter some Unicorns!"

I, atleast, would prefer testing your mod "unfinished", and then joy when it is "finished" with the addition of national spells. But as it is YOUR mod, you can do whatever you please. If you feel it isn't ready enough to let the public see it, then it isn't. (And we have to use our time playing Oglala.)

Does it just not change or does the game crash? Can you change one way only? What is the problem?
In the latter case is your image paths correct (linux is case sensitive).

The difference is in graphics, mainly. Besides, for me Oglala isn't excatly new... Although I am becoming familiar with the concept, and having more interest int he theme of the mod.
