The team of The People's Mod is proud to present our latest and greatest work. Once again, this is mostly a bugfix release, but due to the nature of the bugs, it is a highly recommended upgrade. This version also features some backports from the upcoming 0.3.0-pre2. Changes include:
-Fixed range check error
-Changed torpedo speeds, most are faster now
-Fixed monarch torpedo damage type
-New ship textures, new quadrant map, a few new systems

This version features a new setup. Thanks to Mephisto on shrapnel forums for recommending the Inno Setup system. This makes things easier for users to install the mod, and makes the mod easier to distribute, as well as making the installer slightly smaller.

Edit:
My bad, it seems in the updated maps, the name of the starbase was changed to Manhattan, but the event needed the name Manhattan Starbase. To fix, in Maps_Epsilon_Map.txt, locate the object "I-2 Manhattan", and change the Displayed Name to "Manhattan Starbase".

I do beleive the Starbase was right....just no one home when I knocked on the door....will look again

Sorry, you will have to restart your campiagn. But wait, it gets worse, eventually you have to search for the Dragon Defense Outpost, to deliver a message. And bammo! Guess what?! You can't deliver it because no one is taking it. Essentially this stops the mod in it's tracks.
Don't get me wrong, I REALLY like this mod, but I just hate having hang-ups like this.

Well this project is still far from finished. But thanks for the bug reports.
Also when you fly through the systems if you see funny named objects for example there is Iolo star in Nevada system please tell them too.

No problem, come to think of it, there was another bug, in the warp points; I forget where at this point, but I was travelling to Edge (?), (or out of it) and ended up in a system that had 3 warp points with the same name, but I ended up in another part of the map when I went through.
It would be cool to have unstable warp points though. For that "Voyager" feel. You know, sucked through some worm hole thingie and dropped only God knows where.

Changed this, still no go. I will re-start again just to be sure

OK, Fixed problem 1...had to add "Starbase" to another line lower in file in "Ships" lines 1 and 2, do not change "Enemy Class Name" it will freeze on load up

Bug report, When you warp from New Berlin to Forlon you come out W/P said "Edge", W/P listed as "New B" is "Edge" "Edge" system 3 W/Ps show to "Saggera" still looking for "Dragons Cove" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Mission to take comp data to Dragons Cove....there is no contact at the Defence base http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif (after I found it tooo) I had a range check error in Mveloem system, I could not get it to do it 2X

NP...I know it is a BETA so I am just trying to help out with finding the problems, so far in release 2 I have yet to find combat (will change shortly) so I can check on any weapons that have been changed http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif lol

I wouldn't even call it beta. From my testing the only real bugs are the campaigns and warp points, fighting and weapons all seem to work. There will be changes in weapons big time in the next version.
